The Grange of Prince Edward Winery proudly introduces the 2021 vintage of ‘Lafontaine du Loup’ Brut, an exquisite traditional method sparkling wine that exemplifies the winery’s commitment to excellence. Crafted in collaboration with renowned sparkling wine specialist Jonas Newman, this latest release showcases the artistry and expertise behind one of Ontario’s most celebrated sparkling wines.
A harmonious blend of 70 percent pinot noir and 30 percent chardonnay, ‘Lafontaine du Loup’ Brut is vibrant and expressive, offering delicate notes of fresh apple, pear, light brioche, and almond. Its elegant mousse, layered complexity, and lingering finish make it a standout choice for those who appreciate fine sparkling wine.
Part of the Grange’s esteemed Opinion Series, this release represents the winery’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in Prince Edward County winemaking. The Lafontaine series itself is a tribute to the rich cultural heritage of a spirited Francophone town in northern Ontario, where legend tells of a lone wolf that once threatened the community. The tale speaks of unity and resilience—qualities reflected in this remarkable wine.
“We like to think the Wolf of Lafontaine incited solidarity—a cause for celebration and the popping of corks that inspired great friendships. They were united by bubbles,” says Michael Leskovec, President & CEO of The Grange of Prince Edward Winery.
