Experience the Élevage Winter Wine Festival in Prince Edward County

February 6, 2024
Experience the essence of Prince Edward County’s winemaking heritage at the 2nd annual Élevage Winter Wine Festival, taking place during the Family Day Weekend on Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th

Élevage Winter Wine Festival celebrates the deep connections of the many family-owned wineries and vineyards in Prince Edward County. Directly translating to “raise up”, élevage refers to the ageing process wines undergo in barrel between fermentation and bottling, often coinciding with the quiet winter months.

This festival is an ode to wine in all its stages and seasons, highlighting both the “rising up” of wines as they age and the family connections of the wineries in Prince Edward County.

“This year, we are excited that individual wineries get the opportunity to highlight their products and their activations at their own locations, and we are also giving wineries that are typically closed at this time of year the chance to get exposure by being a guest of a host winery which highlight the spirit of collaboration in The County,” says Erin MacInnis, Vice Chair of PEC Wine and General Manager of Closson Chase Vineyards.

Lighthall Vineyards is one of the wineries participating in Elevage.
