Moët Hennessy and Minuty have announced a strategic alliance to support the international development of prestigious Château Minuty estate, listed as Grand Cru Classé Côtes-de-Provence since 1955. This agreement provides for the acquisition of a majority stake in Minuty by Moët Hennessy. The Matton family remains invested in the running of the estate. Current executives and descendants of the founder, Jean-Etienne and François Matton will continue to manage the company, in line with previous generations.
Created under Napoleon III, with the impetus of several generations of the Matton-Farnet family, the Minuty estate has developed a collection of top-of-the-range wines from the exceptional terroir of the Saint-Tropez peninsula, with a vineyard that extends over the hillsides of Gassin and Ramatuelle. Today, Minuty is the market leader in France and is distributed in more than 100 countries. It stands out for its mastery of traditional know-how that gives Provence Rosé wines their letters of nobility.
“This strategic alliance will allow our estate to benefit from the strength of a major international group while ensuring the continuity of the heritage and traditions of Château Minuty.”
Philippe Schaus, Chairman and CEO of Moët Hennessy, said: “It is a great source of pride for the group to seal a strategic partnership with Minuty, one of the world’s leaders in Rosé de Provence. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work alongside the talented employees of Minuty, known for their commitment to creating wines of the highest quality.” He added: “This is a new step in the relationship of trust built over the last two years between the group and the Matton Family, through the distribution of their wines in the Asia-Pacific region. This alliance, driven by strong export demand, will strengthen the development of Minuty wines internationally, benefitting the entire Rosé de Provence category.”
Jean-Etienne and François Matton, directors and partners of Minuty, agree: “We are delighted with this partnership with Moët Hennessy. Built around our common passion for exceptional wines and respect for know-how passed down through generations, this strategic alliance will allow our estate to benefit from the strength of a major international group while ensuring the continuity of the heritage and traditions of Château Minuty.”
Moët Hennessy and Minuty, united by their passion for wine, have the common ambition to increase the development of the estate and to contribute to the influence of the entire wine category, for which France ought to continue to play a leading role worldwide.
