VineRoutes announces Ontario’s Top 20 Wineries of 2024

December 12, 2024
Congratulations to this year’s Top 20 Wineries – standouts from diverse regions throughout the province, determined by our editorial team’s visit experiences, and celebrated for their exceptional wines

VineRoutes, Canada’s leading online wine lifestyle publication, proudly announces its fifth annual list of Ontario’s Top 20 Wineries, celebrating the province’s most outstanding wine producers for their exceptional wines and unparalleled customer experiences.

Each year, the VineRoutes editorial team evaluates hundreds of Ontario-made wines, conducting both pre-arranged and casual drop-in tastings. From these visits, the editors compile their Top 20 Wineries of the Year, chosen through a preferential ballot. Spanning Ontario’s three VQA wine regions – Niagara Peninsula, Prince Edward County, and Lake Erie North Shore – this year’s list highlights remarkable wine portfolios, exceptional service, and memorable visit experiences.

“When we launched this list in 2020, we had no idea how widely embraced it would be,” says Carmelo Giardina, Principal Editor of VineRoutes. “With each passing year, the anticipation and excitement for the list continue to grow.”

“Our growing team of editors and contributors work diligently to create a list that reflects Ontario’s dynamic and ever-evolving wine scene,” Giardina adds.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Top 20 Wineries list features producers from all three of Ontario’s VQA wine regions, with 11 wineries maintaining their place on the prestigious list since its inception in 2020. Notably, Prince Edward County sees two new additions this year – The Grange of Prince Edward and Three Dog Winery – and two Niagara Peninsula wineries have been added (Niagara-on-the-Lake’s AMO Estate Winery and Beamsville’s Domaine Le Clos Jordanne).
