Located within Toronto’s historic Union Station, Blue Bovine Steak + Sushi House delivers a dining experience that seamlessly fuses classic steakhouse tradition with the refined artistry of Japanese cuisine. With its distinctive dual focus, the restaurant redefines what it means to dine in style—offering guests premium cuts of beef and exquisitely crafted sushi in one of the city’s most dramatic settings.
As one of only three certified Kobe beef purveyors in Toronto, Blue Bovine sources directly from Kobe, Japan, while also featuring in-house dry-aged cuts carefully prepared in a dedicated aging room. The steak program is overseen by Executive Chef Sean Blomeley, whose international career across top steakhouses in the UK and Canada brings both precision and expertise to every plate.

Balancing the boldness of the steakhouse is the elegance of the sushi program, led by Executive Sushi Chef Yi-Joo Na. With over 27 years of mastery in Japanese cuisine, Chef Na curates both an à la carte menu and an Omakase experience that highlight the very best seafood, flown in daily from Japan. His work reflects a deep respect for tradition while embracing innovation and creativity in presentation.
The beverage program at Blue Bovine is no less ambitious. Bar Director Jacob Martin—named the 2023 World Class Global Bartender of the Year—crafts cocktails that blend culinary technique with contemporary mixology, perfectly complementing both the steak and sushi offerings. On the wine side, Wine Director Christina Brown, one of Canada’s most accomplished sommeliers, curates a globally inspired program recognized for its breadth and exclusivity. With certifications from the Court of Master Sommeliers and advanced training through Ian D’Agata’s 3IC program, she ensures that the wine list stands at the same world-class level as the cuisine. Christina also launched the Bovine Wine Club, a premium membership offering exclusive access to rare wines, bespoke tastings, and insider experiences.
Designed by Nadia Di Donato, the restaurant’s space pays homage to Union Station’s architectural heritage while layering in modern sophistication. Luxurious leathers, rich woods, and dramatic lighting combine to create one of Toronto’s most visually striking dining rooms—a setting that feels both timeless and bold.
